Women's MInistries

Welcome to the Women’s Ministries at the NTCG Cathedral of Praise, where women are valued, equipped and empowered to maximise their potentials in the Kingdom of God. Women occupy a unique position in creation, and as such their invaluable contributions to the church and beyond cannot be over estimated.

Here at Cathedral of Praise, as in many other churches, our women outnumber the men. This intensifies our challenge to be women of purpose and excellence – strategising our resources for maximum impact in our community. Our vision is in line with the corporate church’s vision: Reaching People, Changing Lives, Advancing the Kingdom of God.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

We aim to:

  1. Promote and implement a lifestyle of prayer, praise and worship that will impact our church and community.
  2. Assist women in their spiritual growth and development.
  3. Enhance our relationship with the wider community through evangelism, voluntary work and cell groups.
  4. Set up a Women’s Training Centre where women from different cultures would be welcomed.
  5. Set up support groups for young ladies, young wives, senior citizens, single adults, widows and orphans, abused women and children.
  6. Work in line with the vision of the National and Local Church.

All things are possible through Christ (Philippians 4: 13).

REACHING PEOPLE

Christ has given us the mandate in His Great Commission, “Go therefore and make disciples of all people in the world, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you, and I will be with you always, even to the end of the world” (Matthew 28: 19-20). The challenge is for us to become actively engaged in reaching people. God is calling us to go and make followers. He is not calling us to run from church to church, from personality to personality, from creature to creature, but to service, obedience, commitment and discipleship. This is not an optional event, it is an ongoing process.

How can the Woman’s Ministries be a part of this Process?

  1. We must pray more. The Bible says, “When Zion travails, she brings forth children” (Isaiah 66:8). The Church should travail in intercessory prayers night and day, until she produces sons and daughters in the family of God. This is one way the women can be involved. We envisaged mothers meeting together in homes, and in sanctuary for perpetual fasting and prayer, not only for their families but for Church, the community and for the world; until God grant His favour. If you feel called to intercessory prayer and would like to be involved in this clarion call for prayer, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please call us on +44 (0) 208 888 9427, send an email to wm@ntcgcatherdralofpraise.org.uk or write to the President, Women's Discipleship Ministries, New Testament Church of God, Cathedral of Praise, Arcadian gardens, High Road, Wood green, London N22 5AA. Prayer is the engine of our Church and without prayer it will be impossible to fulfil our vision.
  2.  We must Go. We must go out into the communities, singing and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. We must go into the schools, the workplaces, the social arenas, the hospitals, the nursing homes, the prisons and into the homes of the bereaved and bewildered; wherever the Spirit leads us. We have a vision of God’s people marching through our communities, holding services in strategic locations where permission is granted, and having strategic prayer walks. We will also equip and empower our women of vision and purpose to go into foreign countries to minister as the Lord opens doors, making what seems impossible become possible.
  3. We must give. Working in conjunction with the Church’s corporate vision, we will provide clothing and food, where practicable, for the poor and needy. Christian literatures for those who are literate, audio cassettes and CDs for those who cant read but they can hear. We will procure Bibles written in brail for those who blind. We will work with Evangelism Department provide Bibles, gospel tracts and personal items to people in prisons, and give support and encouraging to single parents mothers, who are struggling to bring up young children on their own. We are committed to give willingly and cheerfully of our finance, our time. Our talents and to serve joyfully wherever we are called.
  4. We must love. Love must be motivating factor for all Christian services. The love of God within us is our strength, our motivation and our driving force to reach the un-reached for Christ. We must move OUT of our comfort zones, INTO the spiritual battlefields of life, to rescue the perishing and care for the dying. We must demonstrate the love of God in our sinful world that is yearning for true love. Somebody somewhere is crying out to be loved nad God loves that person enough to send His Son Jesus to die that he or she might live. Love should motivate us to win the lost at any cost.
  5. “Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not arrogant or rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily provoked, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres, Love never ends” (1Corinthian 13:7– 8).

CHANGING LIVES

Christ the blessed changeless Changer is always effecting changes in the lives of all who come to Him in faith. Our vision involves working in partnership with Christ, providing training for our women in all areas of their personal development and ministry, empowering them to be the best that God wants them to be.

ADVANCING THE KINGDOM OF GOD

The Women’s Ministries endeavour to move from strength to strength with one mind, one spirit, one hope, one faith and one determination to advance the Kingdom of God, through the implementation of its diverse ministries.
